Danilo Orsi-Dadomo has been named Maidenhead United’s fans’ Player of the Season after supporters voted him as the star performer of the 2020/21 campaign.
The 25-year-old was announced winner of the individual award during the Magpies’ clash with FC Halifax Town yesterday (Saturday), beating off competition from teammate Sam Barratt.
Including his solo goal against The Shaymen, Orsi-Dadomo has scored 20 times across all competitions in an impressive debut season at York Road.
His contributions helped lift Maidenhead United into National League play-off contention numerous times throughout the campaign, and those efforts have been well recognised by the Magpies’ supporters.
At full-time, the forward thanked those who voted for him and believes Maidenhead can go on to finish the season strongly in their final two matches against Barnet and Boreham Wood.
“It’s a massive honour for me,” said Orsi-Dadomo.
“For it to be my first year at the club, and to be recognised by the fans - it’s probably my favourite out of all the awards to win.
“I want to thank all the fans for the votes. Hopefully they’ve enjoyed this season and the team can kick on with two games left.”
“I’ve had my family down here today and everyone was excited, everyone was emotional,” he added.
“It was the first time my nan came down to watch me. She started crying when I scored so that means a lot.
“To go and score 20 goals in my first season at the club is something I dreamed of.
“It’s something I said to the gaffer when he brought me in, in the summer. I told him ‘I’ll score plenty for you’ and he’s happy that I’ve done that and so am I.
“But, to have fans back at York Road was the main thing today. They were great and I can’t thank them enough for all their support.”
