A 'fiercely competitive' swimmer at Claires Court Senior Girls School has won four gold medals at the Independent Schools Association National Swimming Gala, writes Olivia Simpson.

Rhiannon Thomas won all of her races at the London Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park on Saturday, November, 30.

The year seven pupil competed in the 50m front crawl, 50m breaststroke, the medley relay and the freestyle relay.

Joanne Cox, head of PE at the school said: “We are absolutely thrilled by Rhiannon’s success, she is a superb swimmer and all-round athlete, there is much to come from her in the future.

“She is dedicated in her approach and fiercely competitive in the pool.”

This was not the only success for Claires Court as Year four Junior Girls pupil, Charlotte Burfitt, achieved a bronze medal and Year six Junior Boys pupil, George Norris, attained a gold medal.
