Team SportsAble chalked up six medals, including a double gold for one of their shooters, as they excelled at the Disability Shooting Great Britain (DSGB) Open Championships last month.
The event was held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury – the home of the Paralympics – on November 10.
Jim Mackenzie won a silver medal in the Air Rifle (M) R2-SHA class while in the Air Pistol P1-SH1 category Keith Gilbert and Tony Bond won gold and silver medals respectively, giving Team Sportsable two thirds of the podium places.
Jacki Witt managed to win two medals, a gold in the over 55 supported Air Rifle and bronze in the Air Rifle R2-SH1 category.
However, star shooter of the day was undoubtedly Helen Legg, who triumphed in the Air Rifle R4-SH2 and R5-SH2 categories, taking the number of team golds for the team to four.
Reflecting on the club’s efforts, Damian Ng, SportsAble’s sports development officer, said: “It is an inspiration to see Team SportsAble shooting at such a high standard on the national circuit.”
