Slough Town kicked off their pre-season preparations with a comfortable 3-0 win over Combined Counties Premier Division North outfit Ascot United on Saturday.
Johnny Goddard grabbed a goal on his first appearance in a Rebels shirt while the returning Ben Harris and Aaron Kuhl were also on target.
The Rebels travelled to the Racecourse Ground with a squad of 21 and managed to give each of their outfield players 45 minutes, including Guy Hollis, and George Wells on their return to the club, while Ryan Bird also played for the first time since suffering a ruptured patella tendon in his left knee in September.
Harris opened the scoring for the visitors when he created some space in the box to head home Matt Lench's corner, while Goddard doubled their advantage with an unstoppable shot shortly before the break.
Kuhl kept his head from the penalty spot to make it 3-0 in the 55th minute, following a foul on player/coach Manny Williams. They might have added more, with Williams striking the crossbar and Joe Lawal hitting the post with an effort from outside the box.
The Rebels are back in action on Saturday (July 9) when they host Wealdstone at Arbour Park,
