Slough Town have confirmed seven pre-season fixtures throughout July, including a ‘send-off match for Manny Williams’ against Burnham on July 27.
The club still has a couple of friendly slots to be confirmed on July 17, August 3 and August 7, but the vast majority of their pre-season diary has now been filled in.
They’ll kick off preparations for the new season with a trip to Badshot on Saturday, July 3 (1pm KO), following by another away game at Bracknell Town on Tuesday, July 6 (7.45pm KO). Their third friendly is away to FA Vase finalists Binfield on Saturday, July 10 (1pm), following by a match against a Fulham XI at home on Wednesday, July 14 (7.45pm). Kings Langley will be visited on Tuesday, July 20 (7.45pm KO), it’s Farnborough away on Saturday, July 24 (1pm KO) and the month is rounded off with home game with Burnham in Manny Williams’ honour on Tuesday, July 27 (7.45pm). The Rebels are still to confirm their friendlies for August 3 and August 7, but they hope to announce these in the coming weeks.
Joint manager Neil Baker said: “We are playing more games than we have ever done in pre-season, and this is because of the lack of football for so many over the last 18 months.
“We will also have players that we will want to look at, particularly in some of the earlier matches.”
“Whilst we anticipate that supporters will be able to attend these matches, decisions around capacity and ticketing will differ depending on the host club and will be communicated nearer the time. We hope to be able to admit supporters to our home matches at Arbour Park and will confirm in due course.”
Police were called to the River Thames between Cookham and Bourne End yesterday at about 3pm, to reports that a teenage boy had entered the water but hadn’t been seen to leave.
