The fourth annual Slough open wrestling competition took place at the Singh Sabha sports centre in association with the British Wrestling Association [“BWA”] on Saturday, June 1. The turnout saw 120 entries, which included wrestlers from up and down the country. The demographic of wrestlers ranged from children aged six up to seniors aged 35.
The tournament was a great success with Slough Wrestling receiving great feedback from various Northern wrestling clubs, including the chairman of the BWA, Jem Lawson. This continues to build the Slough wrestling club’s reputation, as the competition becomes more established each year.
The competition saw exciting wrestling from talented young children as well as experienced seniors. The Mayor of Slough, Counsellor Cheema, attended the occasion and presented a portion of the trophies to the junior athletes. The Slough wrestling club received numerous medals throughout a range of weight categories. The trophies were sponsored by Slough Sports and Cultural Club, and to see the competition’s results, please visit British wrestling website here.
