The Berkshire Brigands mixed ability rugby team is raring for their return to training this week after the Government relaxed restrictions to enable organised outdoor sports to resume.
The Brigands are a community team that welcomes players with learning disabilities, autism and other barriers – as well as those without – to play together.
It was inspired by Duncan Stonehouse, a young man with down syndrome who wanted to play competitive, contact, rugby alongside his brother Drew.
Training is set to resume at Reading Rugby Club in Sonning from this evening (Thursday, April 1) from 6.30-8pm. Training will continue with regular Thursday (6.30-8pm) and Saturday (11am-12.30pm) sessions at Holme Park, Sonning Lane.
