Holyport are hosting a community day with free entry when they host Harefield United at Summerleaze Park on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).
It’s been a dreadful couple of months for Lee Ovens and Dan Rapley’s side, and a succession of poor results has seen them tumble down the Combined Counties Premier Division North table.
The latest of those losses came in a tough, tight and somewhat ill-deserved 1-0 home defeat to promotion contenders Broadfields United at Summerleaze Park on Saturday.
The only goal of the game came from a questionable penalty in the first half that was dispatched by Abdirahman Ahmed (34' pen).
Port have been struggling for goals of late though, managing just four in their last nine matches, and they once again failed to break down their visitors who held on for a win which takes them top of the table on goal difference from Ardley United.
Broadfields have though played several more matches than most of their title rivals.
Port therefore need the support of their community to reignite their faltering campaign.
This Saturday, they’re hosting a community day at the club for the visit of Harefield United and entry to Summerleaze Park is free.
The club are also putting on a Christmas food special and will also hold a 50/50 draw.
With Maidenhead United playing away at Hampton & Richmond Borough this Saturday, this is the perfect opportunity to give Port some support as they seek a much-needed league win to lift themselves out of the relegation zone.
Recent results have seen the side drop into the bottom two and they’re currently two points from safety having played more games than most of the teams above them.
Harefield are 14th in the table but their form is improving. They recently thrashed Amersham Town 9-1 away from home, progressed past Tooting and Mitcham United on penalties in the Premier Challenge Cup third round and held third placed Wallingford & Crowmarsh to a 1-1 draw away from home on Saturday.
