FA confirm Holyport's promotion to step 5 in non-league restructure

It’s been confirmed that Holyport will play alongside the likes of Windsor and Burnham in a new Combined Counties Premier Division North league this season after being moved up to step five of the non-league pyramid.

The National League system restructure of steps 4-6 has now been confirmed, subject to FA Council ratification and will see 107 clubs promoted across the pyramid.

Binfield, who’ll take on Warrington Rylands in the FA Vase final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, have been moved up to step 4 and will play alongside the likes of Marlow, Thatcham Town, Basingstoke Town and Mick Woodham’s Staines Town in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

There's also an overseas trip to Guernsey for Marlow and their league rivals to look forward to.

Flackwell Heath have been moved laterally out of the Hellenic League Premier Division and will contest the Spartan South Midlands Football League alongside the likes of Holmer Green, Dunstable Town, Aylesbury Vale Dynamos and Risborough Rangers.

The move has been made to facilitate the creation of a new division at step 4 and two new divisions at step 5. The number of divisions at step six has been reduced from 20 to 17.

A statement on the FA website read: “The restructure will have a positive impact on a significant number of clubs, supporting them with reduced travel and costs and providing opportunities for generating income via localised fixtures.

“We would like to thank all of the clubs across the National League system for their hard work and effort in completing their applications for upward movement and we look forward to welcoming them back for the 2021/22 season.”
