Sheer delight after Shea nets late winner for Maidenhead Nomads in Ken Gomm Cup clash

Maidenhead Nomads made it through to the next round of the Ken Gomm Challenge Cup on Sunday with a 1-0 win at Datchet Village. The visitors claimed a dramatic victory over Village thanks to a 90th minute winner from Jack Shea.

Elsewhere in the competition FC Bentons hammered Langley Old Boys 6-0 to advance to the third round.

AFC Phoenix were also in form as they beat Spartan Red Kites 6-0 in the Tony Blay Memorial Trophy second round.

In Division 1 Maidenhead Crown lost a thriller 7-5 at home to Langley Galaxy.

Maidenhead Nomads second team succumbed to a 4-2 defeat to Microblast in Division 2, despite strikes from Laith and Sam Wallis. While Pinkneys Green beat Datchet Village Reserves 3-1 at home.


Real Milan scraped through on penalties against lower league opposition in LA Micro to progress in the Roy Lester cup. Milan came from behind to equalise late on to send the game to Extra time and penalties where Milan eventually ran out 5-4 winners after three superb penalty saves by keeper Hasan Hussain.

Milan started slowly as it was Micro who dominated early on and took the lead through Thackerey who capitalised as Milan switched off.

Milan were running out of time to get back into the game but in stoppage time a Daniel Sharp throw in was flicked on by Calvin Morgan and Cheyenne Cripps bundled in the equaliser and sending the game into extra time. 

Milan won the shoot-out 5-4, with Paolo Cicero, Kyle Jeffrey, Daniel Sharpe, Calvin Morgan and Jack Evans all scoring. 

Elsewhere Singh Sabha progressed in the Roy Lester cup, after a stunning penalties victory over Swans FC.

The game finished 0-0 with Sabha playing over 90 mins with 10 men, after captain Manpreet Randhawa was sent of in the 20th minute.

They eventually ran out 4-2 winners in the shootout thanks to keeper Andrei Tonca, who made three superb saves.

Sabha are back in cup action this Sunday as they travel to AFC Phoenix in the Ken Gomm Cup.
