Murphy defeats Parry to retain South Bucks Archers indoor title

Shooting Reverse Portsmouth rounds 15 archers took part in the South Bucks Archers third annual indoor championships on Wednesday last week.

Each archer shot 60 arrows apiece in five pools with the winner of each going through to eliminator rounds.

Recurve archers John Murphy, Chris Parry, Saffiya Sheik and Russell Hughes – along with barebow archer Elizabeth Wethered pitted their wits against each other in the knock-out rounds.

Elizabeth Wethered followed by Saffiya Sheik were the first to be knocked out followed by Russell Hughes who finished third.

The final saw defending champion John Murphy narrowly beat Chris Parry to retain his crown.

The competition marks the end of the indoor season with the outdoor shooting beginning this week.
