Berkshire Renegades ready and raring to go ahead of American Football season opener

The Berkshire Renegades American Football Club, who play their home matches at Berkshire County Sports Club in Sonning, say they’ve recruited well during the off-season ahead of their first league fixture.

The Renegades season resumes on Sunday when they play their opening British American Football Association National League (BAFANL) game at home against the Hertfordshire Cheetahs.

The Renegades just missed out on the Division 1 play-offs last season and start out against an opponent who won promotion to Division 1 last year.

Club general manager Jim White has been happy with the squad’s off-field preparations so far.

“We have recruited well during the off season with many new experienced players joining the club, as well as new players to the sport,” he said. “We have also had positive numbers for both our youth and junior programmes which will in turn provide growth of American Football within Berkshire.”

Kick off on Sunday is at 2pm.
