The second qualifying round draw for the FA Cup was made this afternoon, with clubs from the National League North and South entering the competition.
Marlow’s reward for their disciplined 1-0 victory away to Sheppey United on Saturday is another away tie, on the road to FC Abbey Rangers, who play a level below the Blues in the Combined Counties Premier Division North. The tie is set to be played on Saturday, September 18.
They booked their place in the second qualifying round and continued their run of matches without conceding a goal, with Junaid Bell’s second half strike on Saturday.
Slough Town were handed a home tie against Whitehawk of the Isthmian League South East Division, to be played on September 18, while the winners of Flackwell Heath’s replay with Weston Super Mare tomorrow night (Tuesday) will host Taunton Town of the Evo Stik Southern Premier.
The Heathens produced an excellent away display to hold their Southern League hosts on Saturday, with Adam Thomas and Ashley Howell on the scoresheet in a 2-2 draw. They’ll face off again at Wilks Park tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm).
Second qualifying round ties will be played over the weekend of Saturday, September 18, with winning clubs receiving £3,375, and losing clubs £1,125 from the FA’s prize fund.
