Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry is to turn on Marlow’s Christmas lights.
The TV presenter and food writer is set to push the button at the annual Switch on and Shop event on Thursday, November 24.
She will do so from the top of a red double-decker bus, outside the Chequers pub in the High Street, following in the footsteps of fellow foodie and host of Bake Off spin-off Bake Off: Crème de la Crème, Tom Kerridge.
As well as late opening and special offers from select stores, there will also be entertainment from Marlow FM and snow machines.
The Mayor of Marlow, Cllr Bob Johnson, said: “We’re so delighted to have such a popular celebrity agree to switch on our lights this year. Mary Berry is a household name and her presence will help us to raise awareness of our wonderful town.”
The event will start at 5.30, and the High Street will be closed from 5.00-7.30pm for the switch-on ceremony.
