Traffic chaos is set to hit Marlow.
Marlow Bridge, one of the main gateways in and out of the town, is to be closed from Monday for two weeks, until Friday, August 26, and is scheduled to be shut to traffic between 9.30am and 4pm.
This is to allow scaffolding to be set up, which should mean work can continue on the historic structure without the need for further closures until it is completed in late October.
The works are to carry out repairs to two stonework towers, which house the steel frame supports for the suspension bridge.
The traffic islands at each end of the bridge are also due to be refurbished.
Although vehicles will not be allowed to cross during the closures, it will still be open to pedestrians.
A diversion will be in place during the closure, with motorists advised to use the A404 and enter the town at the junction with the A4155 Little Marlow Road.
