A post mortem carried out on a woman murdered in Marlow this week has confirmed she died of a head injury and her body was set on fire.
Police were called to a house in Ragmans Lane just after 6.30am on Wednesday where they found the woman's body.
Formal identification has not yet taken place but police believe the victim is Albertina Choules, aged 81.
Her cause of death has been described as blunt trauma head injury. She had then been set on fire at the scene.
When officers arrived at her home they were confronted by a man who assaulted an officer.
A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
The officer was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Police are still appealing for information.
