2009: A Tesco employee shaved off her shoulder-length hair in the name of charity.

Staff and customers at the store in Nicholsons Walk gathered around Julie Hodgson at the supermarket, as her hair was cut off by David Cubbon, manager of Raffles hair salon.
Tesco staff had been working hard to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care – the charity that all Tescos were supporting that year.
2009: Footballers finally got to play a game on Cox Green’s new all-weather astro-turf pitch.

The pitch, in Cannon Lane, was to be shared by Cox Green Community Centre and Cox Green School.
Residents were invited to the launch of the pitch, where activities inside the school hall, including a bouncy castle and face painting, were provided free by the council.
