A dog trainer from Cookham is conducting a free tour of schools in the area to promote safety between children and dogs.
Graham Whiddett is currently visiting schools in the Maidenhead and Cookham areas to talk to children about safety around dogs and providing tips on ways to interact with them.
The dog behavioural expert and dog trainer who runs his company Wiggle Waggle, kicked off his tour on Tuesday, January 31 at Courthouse Junior School, where he gave a talk to pupils during an assembly.
During the interactive session, Graham told pupils about his
acronym WAIT (standing for watch, ask, invite and touch) which provides advice to youngsters about to how to approach situations when they see a dog while they are out.
As part of the session, Graham also discussed how to interact with dogs at home and provided tips on eat, sleep, and play.
Graham said: “To go out and give those talks and try [to] promote the safety aspect of it, it’s beneficial all round.”
So far, Graham has also visited Cookham Dean CE Primary School, Holy Trinity CofE Primary School, Cookham Rise Primary School and Furze Platt Junior School.
