Red carpet rolled out for Oscars night at infant school

A ‘Night at the Oscars’ was enjoyed by pupils at Burchetts Green CE Infant School.

The film awards ceremony was this term’s theme at the school in Burchetts Green Road. Children made short animation films in their IT lessons and created simple movies using puppets and acting in literacy sessions.

On Wednesday, October 19, they celebrated by inviting staff and governors to dress up and attend a ceremony at the school, complete with red carpet, flashy car and an Oscar for every child.

Headteacher Delia Sheppard said: “Through the film making process children approached aspects of the literacy and IT curriculum in an engaging way which they certainly won’t forget in a hurry.”
