A generous sponsor has enabled a 13-year-old ballet dancer to go to a top dance school.
Matthew Truman has been offered a place at the Tring Park School for Performing Arts on a scholarship covering the tuition and boarding fees thanks to an anonymous donor.
A student at the Elizabeth Fenton School of Dance, Matthew attended an audition for Tring Park on Thursday and found out he had got the place the following day.
He has now left Cox Green School, starting at Tring Park on Wednesday.
He said: “I’m really excited, this is what I really want.
“I told a few of my friends I was leaving school and they were excited but a couple didn’t understand how important it is.
“I feel like a different person when I dance, I’m happier when I’m doing it.”
His ballet teacher Elizabeth Fenton, founder of the dance school, said: “I’m so excited for him. I really just feel it’s the right time for him to go.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity.
“I hope we find out who this sponsor is, we have a lot to thank him for.”
