September marks the beginning of a new health era for the Royal Borough as it kick starts a four-year initiative to make the area a healthy place to live, work and visit.
As part of a joint venture, the council will focus on providing assistance, raising awareness and create easier access to services aimed at improving residents' lifestyles.
Each month will have an action plan launched to encourage people to think about things like what they eat and how active they are.
September will be focused on supporting and empowering people with a long-term condition.
The strategy will be run between the Royal Borough, Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead CCG, Bracknell and Ascot CCG and Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead.

In relation to empowering people with a long term health condition, Singing for lung health in Maidenhead is part of the British Lung Foundation's self-management programme and is open to anyone with chronic lung disease (1 in 4), and alwats welcomes new members. It would be great if the RBWM and the CCGs could link in with groups such as these as they are all aware of them, so that there was a database of provision rather than solely a commitment from above!
