1986: In stark contrast to the 2016 bank holiday, the 52nd annual Littlewick Show 30 years ago was a washout, with organisers labelling it a ‘financial disaster’.

It was the wettest show since 1948, leading some of the events to be cancelled and stallholders to pack up early.

Despite this there were some impressive entries in categories including flowers and pets, and the refreshment tents did a roaring trade as people sought shelter from the rain.
