Half a century after the Pirates of Penzance was performed at the then Maidenhead Grammar School, the cast are looking to have a reunion.
In 1966, students in the upper-sixth at the grammar school, now Desborough College, and Maidenhead High School, now Newlands Girls School, put on the first combined performance between the two schools.
Fifty years later, Malcolm Stark who played Fredric, the pirate apprentice, is organising a reunion of the cast in October.
Malcolm said: “It has been 50 years since that first-ever combined schools performances.
“We thought it would be quite fun to do a reunion. We will hopefully do a bit of a sing-through of some of the songs.”
Malcolm has tracked down a few of the cast already but is struggling to find those who have moved away from the area or female cast members who changed their surnames after marriage.
If you would like to come to the reunion or can help to find some of the cast members email Malcolm on Malcolm@talkstork.co.uk or Bridget Bentley on bridgetbentley@btinternet.com.
