Maidenhead United midfielder Matt Robinson has agreed a deal to remain at the club next season.

Having cemented his place in United’s midfield and scored several crucial goals – including winners at Maidstone United, Horsham and AFC Totton – Robinson has now signed a contract extension to keep him at York Road beyond the summer.

Robinson joined the Magpies in a major summer overhaul following last season’s demotion from the National League.

It was hoped his experience and leadership would help the Magpies find more consistency and so far, that has proved the case, with Ryan Peters’ side very much in play-off contention.

Featuring 31 times so far, he has set the tempo for many of the Magpies best performances and has donned the captain’s armband on several occasions.

His three goals this season have all been decisive ones. His first came in a 1-0 win at Maidstone United and he then wrapped up another three points with a spectacular late strike at Horsham in January.

He repeated the trick again last week when he headed home Josh Popoola’s cross to earn the Magpies a 1-0 win at Tonbridge Angels.

Manager Ryan Peters said: “I have been a fan of Matt’s for a number of years. Having watched him through the years, he had a level of leadership to match his capabilities. When we were finally able to acquire him, it came as no surprise to me that he would be instrumental in spearheading us to a potential playoff spot.

“His experience provides solace for our younger players, alongside his standards and expectations. He is key to our thinking and thought processes and we are very happy that he has chosen to extend his stay with us.”

The club also announced this week that Jaydn Dundas had signed a contract extension.

He has agreed terms through to the end of the 2026/27 campaign but will remain on loan at Hendon FC for the rest of the 2025/26 season.

Jaydn is a product of the Maidenhead United Academy pathway rising through The Magpies ranks. He came on for his league debut against Horsham in our 2-1 victory in August.

Dundas has had loan spells at Camberley Town, Thatcham Town and Beaconsfield Town, while also earning appearances for United in the National League Cup. In December, he joined Hendon until the end of the season and has impressed, winning man of the match against Hanworth Villa and goal of the month for a strike from an impossible angle against Raynes Park Vale.

Assistant manager and head of academy, Aaron O’Brien said: “Since joining the academy at 16, Jadyn has shown an unbelievable willingness to learn and develop. This has continued since signing his first contract with Maidenhead United.

“Every day in training Jadyn strives to improve. He has had two successful loan spells with Beaconsfield and Hendon demonstrating his talents in the middle of the park. I’m delighted and proud to see him continue his journey at York Road.”
