Weymouth may sit towards the bottom of the National League, but they arrive at York Road on Saturday having hit a vein of rich form.
The Terras sit just outside of the relegation places in 20th place and that is unlikely to improve this week after their home game with Boreham Wood was called off.
In recent weeks they’ve beaten Hartlepool United, Aldershot and Bromley, who they edged out 2-1 on Saturday thanks to two early goals from Andrew Dallas. In that run they’ve also lost narrowly to promotion hopefuls Notts County and Boreham Wood, so they’ll fancy their chances of clipping the Magpies’ wings.
“They’re playing really well at the moment,” said Devonshire. “I think they’ve won three of their last five, like Yeovil when they came to us recently having done something similar. “Weymouth have picked up now and have had a few good wins. It will be tough; they’ve got a boy on loan who’s doing well for them at the moment and is scoring a few goals.
“But it’s about us and what we do. We’ve got to concentrate on bouncing back from Saturday’s game, put that result behind us and play better this weekend.
“We’ve got two home games, Weymouth and Stockport. Stockport one of the sides fancied to win the league and Weymouth are fighting for their lives, but in good form as well. They’ll be two tough games, but we need to bounce back after losing at home.”
