Devonshire promises Maidenhead United will have a good go at league leaders Barrow AFC

Maidenhead United will be sent out to ‘have a good go’ at leaders Barrow this afternoon (Saturday), buoyed by their impressive away win at Dover in midweek.

The Magpies ended a run of three defeats in the league with a thrilling 4-2 success on the south coast which Devonshire felt was fully merited.

Next they’ll host surprise league leaders Barrow, who head the division by a point from Solihull Moors with a game in hand. However, they come into the clash having been held 2-2 at home by second-bottom Chorley and Devonshire knows they’re by no means invincible.

“They’re a good side,” he said. “We lost 2-0 up there in what was probably our worst performance of the season, other than Aldershot away.

“But listen, we’ve won this week and will have Danny (Whitehall) and Massey (Alan Massey) back.

"Coms (James Comley) will probably come back in as well after missing Tuesday through illness so I think we’ll have a better squad to choose from and hopefully we can have a go.”
