Maidenhead United midfielder Ryan Upward was in a positive mood following the Magpies’ 1-0 over Kuwait, and he believes that there is a much better ‘morale’ at the club heading into the new season.
The midfielder continued to get minutes under his belt in the lead up to the new league season, playing 70 minutes in a high-tempo Maidenhead midfield.
With three pre-season games gone for the Magpies, Upward is looking forward to the new season, especially with the positive attitude around the dressing room.
“It should be a better season than last season in my opinion,” said Upward.
“There’s a few trialists still and it’s looking very positive. There are a lot of good players trying to get into the club.
“There’s a much better morale this pre-season than last season – there’s just a better feel for the place.
“We’ve got better facilities this year, we’ve gone full time so there’s a lot of positives to take in and hopefully you’ll see it in the league when we finish higher up this year.”
