Alan Devonshire and former magpies assistant Sam Lock will go head to head when Maidenhead take on Bracknell.
Maidenhead United face a busy weekend as they kick off their pre-season games when they take on Ascot United and Bracknell Town in Saturday’s double header.
The Magpies will take on the Yellamen at 12:15pm at their new training facility Bisham Abbey, before making the short trip to Sam Lock’s Bracknell for a 3pm kick off on the same day.
The two fixtures will give Alan Devonshire the chance to get a full view of his squad on the pitch and the Magpies boss explained that Saturday will be all about getting players back out on the pitch and ready for the new season.
“It will be about getting match fit and getting the sharpness back,” said Devonshire.
“We’ve trained really hard over the last few weeks and it will be a point of getting everyone minutes who needs it.”
Devonshire confirmed he will be ‘changing things around’ between the two fixtures, but also stressed he was not going to risk any players on the artificial surface at Bracknell who are carrying knocks in pre-season
“It’s going well – a few little knocks here and there and a few little injuries so we will play it by ear,” added Devonshire.
“Nothing serious – just a twisted ankle or sore quads. They're nothing serious, just normal pre-season things.
“We’ve played three or four times over the season on it (3G) – some clubs have it.
“It’s not something I like playing players on who have knocks.”
Following Saturday’s double header, the Magpies return to York Road for a marquee fixture against the Kuwait National side on Tuesday evening.
With the match open to the public it will give Magpies fans the chance to get a first look at the clubs latest signings, with no fewer than seven players coming in.
Devonshire is looking forward to the fixture but stressed its ‘all about the build up to August 3rd' - Maidenhead's opening game of the season at Stockport.
Tickets for Tuesday’s 7.45pm kick off are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concession and £2 for under 16.
