Maidenhead United's assistant manager Sam Lock was disappointed the team couldn't repay their 'incredible fans' in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Salford City.
The visitors were ruthlessly picked apart by a clinical Ammies side chasing promotion but Lock felt they handed the initiative to the home side.
"We weren't at it today," he said.
"It wasn’t good enough.
"We switched off and when you do that against a good side they’ll punish you and they did every single time.
"They probably had three or four shots at goal and they put most of them away so we’re disappointed with that."
The fans stayed behind long after the final whistle to sing the team's praises with many having travelled up to the North West in fancy dress for the final Saturday away game of the season.
"The fans are incredible," added Lock.
"A half hour after the game they were still cheering and me and the gaffer were walking off laughing saying how lucky we are to be at a club like this with fans like that. It’s just incredible. They deserved more from us today. Hopefully we’ll finish the season strongly and get as many points as we can."
