Maidenhead United will take on Reading FC for a place in the final of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup next Tuesday, their first competitive clash since 2001.

The Magpies are well on their way to securing their National League status, despite Tuesday’s 3-0 reverse at Ebbsfleet United.

That remains manager Alan Devonshire’s main priority but he’ll also want to do well in a competition he’s had plenty of success in over the years.

Reading’s u23s squad has defeated Bracknell Town and Flackwell Heath to reach this stage of the competition.

The Magpies last played the Royals in March 2001, also in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup. On that occasion a single goal from Maidenhead’s Lee Channell proved enough for the Magpies to advance.

Tuesday’s semi-final tie will kick off at 7.45pm.

Entry is discounted for the game with adults priced at £10, concessions at £5 and u16s at £2.

Marlow will host Slough Town in the other semi-final on Tuesday, March 26, 7.45pm kick off.

The venue and date of the final have yet to be confirmed.
