Maidenhead United have strengthened their defensive options with the signings of Ryheem Sheckleford and Chinua Cole.
Sheckleford, a former Fulham youth prospect who appeared for the Cottagers in their 2013/14 FA Youth Cup final, can operate at right-back or in midfield and was on loan at National League South side Wealdstone last season. The 21-year-old will take squad number 16.
Cole, 24, played at left-back for Torquay United and impressed while on trial with the Magpies over the summer. He appeared in a number of their friendly matches and will take squad number 15.
The Magpies are in need of defensive reinforcements after Maximilian Kilman was sold to Premier League Wolves on transfer deadline day and Rene Steer went off with an injury in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Both Sheckleford and Cole will be eligible to play against Wrexham at York Road this evening (Tuesday, 7.45pm kick-off).
