A rugby taster event for all girls whether beginners or intermediate will be led by England's Grand Slam winning forward Maud Muir at Braywick Park a week on Sunday (June 19).
The first such taster day last year laid the groundwork for the growth of the club's girls’ section from zero to more than 40 girls.
The sessions will be led by England's Muir, one of the best young players in her sport, together with Irish international Edel McMahon and Wasps Ladies' fly-half Lizzie Goulden.
The club is also celebrating the success of its first county player after Maisie Olding, from Maids’ u16s squad, appeared twice for Bucks and played extremely well.
In the forthcoming season Maids will run teams at u12s (school years six and seven), u14s (years eight and nine), u16s (years 10/11) and there are also plans to host 'Pitch Up and Play Days’ next season.
Stephen Jones, the club's director of women's and girls' rugby, said: “We will warmly welcome anyone who'd like to try rugby, which is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK.
“The accent will always be on fun, safety, skills and fitness and rugby is definitely a game for all shapes and sizes of player.”
The taster day on June 19 gets underway from 11am. To register email MRFCgirlsrugby@gmail.com
