'Spooktacular' time had by all at Legoland Windsor Resort's Brick or Treat event for Halloween

Winter may be coming but there are still plenty of thrills and spills to be had at Legoland Windsor Resort over the Halloween period.

My family enjoyed a trip to the park for its Brick or Treat celebrations last weekend and had a ‘spooktacular’ time.

Fortunately we were blessed with warm, late autumn, sunshine, as well as a Q-bot ticket to skip the queues for the larger attractions and rides – which, with a soon to turn two-year-old, we really appreciated.

Alex loved the Atlantis Submarine Voyage in Adventure Land, so much so we went on a few times to spot all the tropical fish, sharks and manta rays. He also loved swinging his arms about in the Lego Ninjago World ride. We also let him loose at the controls of a waterboat on Coastguard HQ – leading to a few collisions and a melee of trapped boats.

There were plenty of other Brick or Treat activities for him to get his fangs stuck into, including a Brick or Treat trail, a Monster Rocker’s Dance Party and a ghost hunt across the park.

But, and I think this counts for many two-year-olds, his great passion at the moment is trains. From the moment he walked into the park there were a variety of options, from the more sedate Hill Train and Legoland Express to the little Duplo Train in Duplo Valley. He was a contented little boy throughout and we struggled to pull him away from watching all the miniature Lego trains buzzing around the world in Miniland.

It’s a shame he’s not yet quite 90cms, as that would have unlocked many more rides for him to have tried, but he still had a really fun day that was capped off by a spectacular 3D fireworks display, in which the fireworks burst into thousands of Lego bricks.

Alex also ate for free in one of the pasta/pizza restaurants which gets another big tick in my book.
