An actor who once starred in the hit TV show Game of Thrones will be standing as a candidate for the Green Party in the general election.
Fintan McKeown, 61, of St Leonards Road, has made tackling air quality in Windsor a key priority as he aims to dislodge long-standing Conservative MP Adam Afriyie from the town’s Parliamentary seat.
He told the Express: “We happen to live in this area of natural beauty but the air is not great around here and I feel we need to do everything we can to improve it.
“I think we have to look at reducing emissions and having another runway at Heathrow is just going to worsen the situation.”
McKeown, who played the role of Ser Amory Lorch in the fantasy series, said he wants to preserve the ‘heart and soul’ of Windsor by protecting independent shops and encouraging arts and culture to grow.
He added: “I think it is very important that we talk to the up and coming generation that feel there is nothing for them.
“This is not a debate. The time for debating is over. This requires calls for sustained action.”
