Slough Town have confirmed that six more players have signed new deals which will keep them at the club next season, as Scott Davies seeks to keep together the core of this season's squad.

With the Rebels having finished 10th in the National League South this season and progressed to the first round of the FA Cup, several of their players have caught the eye of league rivals or clubs at a higher level.

Last week, Maidstone United revealed they'd signed central defender Temi Eweka ahead of next season, while Tyrese Dyce is also set to depart for pastures new.

Last season's top goal scorer Johnny Goddard is also weighing up his options and said his future at Arbour Park could well depend on how much ambition the club shows this summer.

However, six more players have committed to the club for the 2024/25 season, as confirmed by Davies and Ashley Smith at last week's fans' forum at Arbour Park.

They are Nathan Minhas, Gary Abisogun, Jeanmal Prosper, Gabe George, Ollie Spicer, and Hugo Sobte. They’ve joined club captain Josh Jackman Dan Bayliss, Leon Chambers Parillon, David Ogbonna and Slavi Spasov who had already committed their future to the Rebels. Player manager Davies also recently signed a new contract.

Defender Joe Dandy is another who is set to leave having made 62 appearances for the Rebels since joining in March 2022.

On the six players who've committed for next season, a club statement said: “Nathan Minhas will return to add to the 17 goals he scored in all competitions in his first season at the club after making the move from Beaconsfield Town last summer.

“Also returning is Gary Abisogun, who will be looking to make an impact after being severely hampered by an injury suffered in pre-season last summer, which restricted him to just 12 appearances for the Rebels in 2023/24.

“The versatile Jeanmal Prosper made 47 appearances for Scott Davies’ side last season after his move from Chesham United last summer, and he will come up against his former club again next season.

“After a spell on loan at Bracknell Town last season, Gabe George came back into the fold in March and the Rebels lost only one of the eight matches he played in the run-in, the young defender also scoring his first goal for the club at Truro City.

“England Schoolboys U18 international and academy graduate Ollie Spicer will be back to continue his development and add to the eight senior appearances he has made for the club to date.

“Finally, goalkeeper Hugo Sobte – an able deputy in five matches last season – will also be part of Scott Davies’ squad going into the new season.”
