Alan Devonshire felt his side were denied a blatant penalty in the closing stages of Saturday’s goalless draw with Woking at York Road.

The Magpies were pressing hard to break the deadlock in the final stages of contest they'd shaded throughout when Harry Parsons' close range header appeared to be kept out on the line by defender Josh Casey's arm.

The Magpies players and coaching team were incensed by referee Stuart Morland's decision to play on, and photographs taken of the incident would suggest they had a very strong case for a spot-kick.

“I'm not so sure about the other one, but Harry (Parsons) said he was pushed down by their number 5 (Taylor). The last 15 minutes we’ve been camped inside their box and we were trying to win the game and then we get a decision like that.. On the positive side we’ve got another point, but it should have been three.

“People will be looking at it and saying we haven't scored in three games, but you've seen for yourself, we're creating chances and then we've got the referee missing blatant penalties. What can you do about it? I'm sure if it was at the other end he'd have given it. I feel for the players, they've worked their nuts off in hard conditions and they should have won the game.”

His opposite number, Cards’ boss Darren Sarll added: “It’s a very hard-fought point. These games are really tough. I’m a humble person and I never discount any opponent. The game could have swung either way with two good chances and they had some heavy pressured moments at the end there. I didn’t see it (the handball decision). It could be proximity. Anything that is too close now in order to move your hand out of the way. I’ve no idea, it could be, it might not be.”

The teams traded clear-cut chances, with Ricky Korboa volleying horribly wide from Josh Casey’s cross in the 65th minute and Reece Smith slicing wide at the far post with the Woking goal gaping in the 70th minute.
