Maidenhead United have made their fifth signing of the summer following the arrival of winger Jayden Mitchell-Lawson.
The 23-year-old has been a free agent since his departure from Ayr United and played the first half as a trialist in Saturday's 2-0 friendly win over Thatcham Town.
Mitchell-Lawson has had spells playing both north and south of the border and regularly featured for Ayr in the Scottish Championship and Scottish Premiership playoffs last season.
The winger began his youth career at Swindon Town and has gone on to play for the likes of Derby County, Bristol Rovers and Ayr.
He scored his first professional goal for The Gas against Wycombe Wanderers back in 2020 and went on to score twice in 18 appearances for Rovers over two loan spells before returning to Swindon.
After his departure from Ayr, he is now looking for a new challenge with the Magpies and manager Alan Devonshire will be hoping his performances can lift the side to a more comfortable league position in the 2023-24 season. Having got a taste for playing with his new team against Thatcham, Mitchell-Lawson will be keen to get more minutes under his belt at St Albans City this evening (Tuesday) and Hayes & Yeading United on Saturday.
To secure your place at York Road for the 2023-24 season, gold and silver memberships are available from the club's website.
