Midfielder Reece Smith has put pen to paper on a contract extension at Maidenhead United, committing his future to the club after a series of impressive performances this season.
Smith made his first team debut for Alan Devonshire's Magpies back on March 9, 2021, against Dagenham & Redbridge and, after a couple of seasons on the periphery of the first team, he has really forced his way into Alan Devonshire's plans with some scintillating displays. As one of Maidenhead's most saleable assets, tying him down to a longer-term deal also makes good financial sense for the club, should other clubs come looking to secure his signature. Smith is a product of Maidenhead's and BCA's Academy system having been guided through from the junior ranks by the head of academy, Aaron O'Brien.
He played for the youth team which made history by reaching the third round of the FA Youth Cup two seasons in a row before signing his first contract with the club back in October 2020.
After making his debut he's gone on to make 80 senior appearances across all competitions and has found the net on four occasions, including a strike in the recent 3-2 defeat at Altrincham.
