The team behind the new Co-op convenience store at the One Maidenhead development are aiming to open the store this Spring.
In a recent update, franchisee Charul Patel, owner of MK & Saiji Company Ltd, revealed that that team are ‘looking forward’ starting works at the store in March, ‘with a view to opening’ in May.
In December 2024, the company submitted a licensing application to RBWM.
The company will be running the store under Southern Co-op's convenience store franchise business, the 'Welcome' brand.
The application sought approval to sell alcohol (off premises) from 6am to 11pm from Monday to Sunday.
The licence was issued by RBWM in December 2024.
The latest update states that the store will offer ‘a full range of Co-op fresh and ambient products’ as well as COOK frozen food, and other treats.
The One Maidenhead regeneration scheme was launched in June 2024 and features 429 flats, alongside ground floor retail units.
The store is set to be situated alongside brands two international food brands, which both opened at the development last year.
Pret A Manger opened its new format store, featuring a more spacious, sit-down areas at 7 Garden Boulevard in June 2025.
Shortly after, popular Peri-Peri chain Nando’s opened its new 124-seater restaurant at unit 3 Grenfell Island at the end of June.
Ms Patel added: “We look forward to welcoming the local community once we're open later in the year.”
