Slough Town will host National League South rivals Enfield Town in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round at Arbour Park, with a place in the first round of the competition up for grabs when the two sides meet on Saturday, October 11.

The Rebels came from behind with only 10 men on Saturday to get the better of hosts Bedfont Sports, Josh Adepoju scoring twice in the 42nd and 60th minutes for the Rebels, who’d earlier seen keeper Adam Desbois dismissed for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

Having also conceded a goal to Ollie Davison in the 19th minute, the Rebels had to do things the hard way, but a beautiful ball from Scott Davies was anticipated by Adepoju who headed home bravely to make it 1-1 before half-time. The new signing then raced onto a well-judged through ball and clipped a shot past the Eagles’ goalkeeper and in off the post on the hour mark.

The Rebels will take on an Enfield Town side who’ve also managed just nine points from their first nine matches. Slough sit two places below them in the table, but they’ve had very similar starts to their respective league campaigns.

On Saturday, Enfield Town were comfortably leading Quorn 5-1 when, in the 82nd minute, Quorn’s keeper Tom Allsopp suffered a serious injury, and the game was subsequently abandoned.

Enfield Town found out today that the result would stand and they were picked out of the hat to travel to Arbour Park on Saturday week (October 11).

Their goals on Saturday came from Lamar Reynolds (32', 58’), Tosh Gallimore (45+3'), Sam Youngs (55’) and Tommy Wood (82’). The carrot for both sides if they progress will be a potential tie against an EFL side in the first round.

Also hoping to make it through to the final qualifying round of the competition are Flackwell Heath of the Southern League Central Division, but they’ve got some work on their hands to get there.

The winners of tomorrow evening’s (Tuesday) third qualifying round replay between Bracknell Town and Flackwell will travel to step 4 side Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday, October 11.

Maldon are currently second in the Isthmian League North - the same level that Flackwell play at.

Flackwell held Bracknell Town to a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s tie at Wilks Park, Connor Young coming off the bench to score an 81st minute equaliser for Chris Ayres’ side after Alfie Pavey had headed Bracknell in front early in the second half.

Flackwell pressed hard for a winner in the closing stages, with Matty Ayres missing a good chance to send the step 4 side through, however, both sides will get another bite of the cherry at Bottom Meadow tomorrow night.

Fourth qualifying round winners will receive a not insignificant £9,375 from the FA’s prize fund with the losing team to get £3,125.
