Flackwell Heath can be 'force to be reckoned with' says boss

Flackwell Heath can be a force to be reckoned with by their Hellenic Premier Division rivals as long as they cut out their rooky errors.

That’s the view of boss Marcus Richardson who was left scratching his head in bewilderment after Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Lydney Town in their Premier Division opener.

They responded brilliantly on Tuesday night however, beating Holmer Green 2-0 with a brace from Jack Taylor.

He prodded home their opener after only four minutes before reacting quickest to the ball cannoning off the Holmer keeper to make it 2-0 before half-time.

“Footballing wise it’s been a very good start to the season,” said Richardson. “We still need to cut out the errors which have been costing us but if we can do that we’ll be a force this season.

“To be honest with you, I don’t know how we didn’t win on Saturday. I was scratching my head for three days after that one thinking ‘how did that happen?’

“It hurt to lose that game when, no disrespect to Lydney,

I thought we were by far the superior team.”

Talking about Tuesday’s win over Holmer Green, Richardson said: “I thought we deserved the result and were the better side throughout. We scored early, put them on the back foot and controlled the game.”

The Heathens face Oxhey Jets away in the FA Cup extra preliminary round today (Saturday) before visiting Brackley Town Saints in the league on Tuesday.
