Guests browsed craft stalls and enjoyed festive music at Maidenhead Lions’ first ever Christmas Gift Market on Saturday.

The event was officially opened by Maidenhead MP Josh Reynolds at St Joseph’s Parish Centre in Cookham Road.

The hall was packed with more than 20 craft stalls, selling creative gifts.

Around 200 people attended in the first two hours to browse stalls offering accessories, jewellery, handmade rope gifts, hot sauces, honey, hats and scarves, vegan bath bombs, and beauty products.

Crochet and handmade items, 3D printed collectables, resin creatures and activity boxes for children were also on offer.

The fourth Maidenhead Guides offered treats including hand-drawn pictures, hot chocolate reindeer, bookmarks and cards.

The Tangent ladies group offered up refreshments and treats such as mince pies and cakes.

The event also featured a tombola and mystery gift bag stall.

Jo Manisier, president of the Maidenhead Lions Club, said: “We wanted to bring something new and different, and have local craft stalls, engage with local people.

“It’s been fantastic because there’s been a lot of Lions that have volunteered to help.

“I’m really pleased with how the hall looks and the number of stalls we’ve had.

“Everybody seems to be having a lovely time, so I’m really pleased with how it’s gone today (Saturday).”

The Maidenhead Lions Club will be hosting its schools talent show on Saturday, November 22.

The team is working towards the 41st Swimarathon, set to take place at Braywick Leisure Centre in January.

Plans are in place to bring back the Christmas Gift Market next year.
