A couple was set to receive their second telegram from the Queen as they celebrated their sapphire wedding anniversary.
Wednesday marked 65 years of marriage for William and Beryl Devonshire.
The couple who live in Eton Wick got married at St Mary’s Church in Farnham Royal.
William, 88, was born and raised in Eton as was his father and grandfather while Beryl, 85, was brought up in Richmond.
They have two daughters, Kim 62, and Linda, 60, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kim described her parents as an ‘inspirational couple’.
She said: “My mum has been registered blind for three years and my dad is just wonderful and does everything for her.
“They are both so caring and thoughtful.”
William regularly goes his Eton Wick allotment and the couple still enjoys travelling and going on cruises.
“They are still adventurous and cruising is their favourite,” said Kim.
In January they went on a cruise to South Africa and Mauritius with their two daughters.
Kim added: “My sister and I both know how extremely lucky we are to have our parents and their support.”
The family plans on celebrating this weekend with a meal out in Eton.
