Twyford and Ruscombe played out an entertaining draw with Warfield in Berkshire League Division 1 on Saturday as both sides finished the day’s play tied on 163-9 after 40 overs.
Warfield won the toss and elected to field and did well to limit their opponents early on before Simon Burr and Razavullah Shaik top scored with 28 each. The rest of the middle and lower order contributed a steady trickle of runs. Twyford's total was matched by their opponents but in a very different manner. Sam Laing piled on 77 runs before being caught by Stephen Walkland and Ashley Gander added 37. Chandra Cherukuri was having a day to remember with the ball in hand, taking four wickets as both sides ended the day all square.
In the same division, Waltham St Lawrence fell to Woodley by 70 runs after struggling to cope with the consistent scoring from Woodley. Prasad Kulkarni grabbed a half century, while six of his teammates also hit double figures.
For Waltham, Isaac Musuwo made the biggest dent in their target with 65 but it proved to big of a mountain to climb.
In Division 2, Knowl Hill beat Wokingham by 89 runs as they limited their opponents to just 101 runs all out after 32.3 overs. Daniel Bavington top scored with 27 in a very steady innings in bat all round for Knowl Hill while James Stoker, Adam Brookman and Nick Harrison all took three wickets to claim a comfortable victory.
