A petition against the relocation of Claires Court Schools to a single campus has received more than 1,000 signatures.
The petition was set up by campaign group Cox Green Says No, which objects to proposals for the school to redevelop its Ridgeway site and build 157 homes on its existing three sites.
The group now has the support of Cllr Ross McWilliams (Con, Cox Green) who believes the expansion proposals offer no benefit to the residents in Cox Green.
He said: “With this proposal there are no plans for infrastructure.
“We will be losing greenbelt and there is no real benefit for the residents living in Cox Green.
“I will be helping the group get signatures for the petition and holding a meeting in the coming months to support this.”
