Celebrations were in order for a resident at a Burnham care home last week as he turned 100-years-old.
Residents, staff, family members, friends and the mayor of Slough Siobhan Dauti gathered at Applegarth Care Home to mark George Baxter’s birthday.
Ms Dauti attended the event to congratulate George and present her best wishes on the community’s behalf.
The care home was decorated with handmade creations from residents, and guests enjoyed a buffet to mark the occasion.
Following the mayor’s speech to George, everyone gathered for a rendition of Happy Birthday as the cake was brought out.
Mr Baxter also received a birthday card from King Charles III and Queen Camilla to mark the milestone.
Home manager Jayne Humphries, said: “George is a truly valued part of our Applegarth family and brings so much warmth to everyone around him.
“He had a fantastic day and told us that this was one of the best birthdays he has ever had - and hearing that made us all so happy.
“That’s exactly what we strive for here at Applegarth.”
