Visitors gathered at a retail park in Stafferton Way in Maidenhead this morning (Friday) as The Range store opened the doors of its new store.
The grand opening of the new-format superstore at the site of the former Homebase, featured a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Royal Borough deputy mayor Mandy Brar, who was joined by her consort Harry Brar.
The new store features an array of products covering homeware and garden, and includes the addition of Kitchens by Homebase, with design specialists on hand to help customers.
The Garden Centre by Homebase offers an array of items from outdoor plants and gardening tools to essential supplies.
The event saw many visitors come through the doors.
The first 50 people in line also received a goodie bag filled with products.
Those at the start of the queue took home a range of prizes, including the Lay-Z- Spa Singapore AirJet Plus Hot Tub worth more than £599, the Charleston 2 Burner barbecue worth £99.99, with a free cylinder and gas valued at more than £70, courtesy of Calor Gas.
A 18v Cordless Combi Hammer Drill worth £120 was also given away as a prize.
Brand representatives from suppliers such as Sodastream were on hand to offer advice, production demonstrations and promotions and giveaways to customers.
The store allows well-behaved dogs on leads.
A free Click & Collect service is also available, allowing customers to shop either online at www.homebase.co.uk or www.therange.co.uk and pick up their purchases in-store within 60 minutes.
Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, trading as The Range, wilko and Homebase, said: “We’re thrilled to open the doors in Maidenhead today and introduce customers to the new The Range superstore experience.
