A Maidenhead-based go-karting venue has launched a new experience for youngsters aged four to eight-years-old.
Absolutely Karting is giving young motorsport fans the chance to experience racing in a ‘safe and exciting’ environment through the launch of Whizz Karts.
The new electric Whizz Karts have adjustable speeds which are controlled by Absolutely Karting’s instructors.
The karts also feature roll bars, safety bumpers and seat belts.
Each child will be given a helmet and a race suit and will receive a full safety briefing and instructions before taking to the track.
Whizz Karts will have exclusive use of the track, which Absolutely Karting has re-designed with youngsters in mind.
The track includes safety barriers throughout the course and a layout which is suitable for younger drivers.
Naomi Smith from Absolutely Karting, said: “Go karting is recognised as a fantastic way for aspiring racers to hone their skills and get a taste of the excitement of motorsport – current Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen, for example, started racing go karts at the age of four.
“However, there is a real lack of opportunities for younger children to experience the thrill of go karting in the UK, so we are delighted to be able to offer this exciting new experience.
“Safety is paramount, and we have taken every precaution to ensure that the Whizz Karts and the track are specifically tailored to young drivers – we look forward to welcoming younger racers.”
The Whizz Karts are available for birthday parties and walk-in sessions, where youngsters can race against their friends in a fun and competitive environment.
Bookings can be made through the Absolutely Karting website at: https://absolutely-karting.co.uk/whizz-karts/
