Burnham 1, Wallingford & Crowmarsh 1
Burnham were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wallingford & Crowmarsh on Wednesday night, missing the chance to move four points clear at the top of the table.
The Blues were hoping to record their fourth straight win in the league, but they came up against stubborn opponents, who themselves are still very much in promotion contention.
Burnham recorded a routine 2-0 win over North Leigh to stretch their unbeaten run in the Combined Counties Premier Division North to nine matches on Saturday, and they made the perfect start at the 1878 Stadium on Wednesday, when Jordan Brown confidently swept them in front in the 33rd minute.

But their lead lasted only four minutes before Wallingford’s James Williams fired the visitors level and that’s the way it remained until the final whistle.
The result lifts the Blues two points clear of Broadfields United at the top of the table, but joint managers Mo and Omz Bakali would have hoped and wished for it to be four.
It does though extend their unbeaten run to 10 matches and keeps them very much in the title mix. However, Ardley United in fifth place are now seven points behind them with four matches in hand. Third placed Ashford Town (Mddx) – who themselves hammered Wallingford 5-1 at home at the weekend – can also move above the Blues at the top should they win their two matches in hand.
Wallingford are fourth, four points behind Burnham having played a couple more matches.
On Saturday a goal in each half from Zakari Otoo in the 15th minute, and Tyrique Tekasala in the 70th, were enough for a 2-0 home win over North Leigh, a result which lifted the Blues back to the summit above Broadfields.
