Royal Household Bowling Club
On Wednesday the Royal Household Bowling Club continued their belated, due to Covid, Centenary Celebration matches, by welcoming The Royal Hospital, Chelsea Pensioners.
On their arrival they were piped into the grounds headed by 95 year old CSM Alan Hayter, a former club and secretary member. After 25 years in the Scots Guards, Hayter then served her Majesty the Queen as her official Axe Keeper, a position he held for 12 years.

After official photographs, the Chelsea Pensioners removed their Scarlets and joined the Royal Household members on the green for a 6 rink Mixed Triple game. With fun and laughter resonating across all the rinks, it was without doubt one of the most memorable games ever held at the Household bowling club. Although it being a win for the Household, that was insignificant.
